Man hit by car while removing tire chains on I-5

A 53-year-old man stopped to take his tire chains off in a traffic lane on I-5 near Kent and was struck by a car. He was then taken to Harborview Medical Center following the Kent pedestrian accident, according to the State Patrol.

Trooper Curt Boyle said that the man was driving in the right-hand lane of I-5 just south of Highway 516 around 1 p.m. when he stopped on the freeway. Boyle said that as he stood next to the vehicle trying to take his chains off, another car drifted over, hit his car and then hit him.

According to Boyle, the man flew about 80 feet forward after he was hit. He was listed in serious condition at the Seattle hospital.

Seattle Car Accident Involving Drunk Driver and Washington State Trooper

Drunk driver hits trooper, cadet on I-5

A drunk driver crashed into the patrol car of a state trooper and cadet, who were both injured in the collision. The crash happened Sunday, along Interstate 5, just south of downtown Seattle, the Washington State Patrol reported.

The Washington State Patrol also reported that an 18-year-old passenger in other car also suffered serious injuries and was taken to Harborview Medical Center. Firefighters had to cut into the wreckage to pull him out.

At about 2 a.m. Sunday, on the southbound shoulder of I-5 where the troopers were parked to investigate an earlier Seattle automobile accident near the Albro Place exit, the car rear-ended the patrol car, which had emergency lights on.

The driver, an 18-year-old Tacoma man, was arrested for investigation of vehicular assault and booked into the King County Jail.

The troopers were taken to Harborview Medical Center with nonfatal injuries.

Snohomish Pedestrain Accident Sends Man to Harborview

Snohomish man transported to Harborview after being hit by car

A Snohomish man suffered life-threatening injuries on Saturday night after being struck by a vehicle.

Snohomish County Fire District 4 Battalion Chief Craig Heike said that medics responded to a call in the 1200 block of 13th Street about 5:20 p.m.
The man, who is in his 80s, was taken to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle.

According to Heike, the man was wearing all-black clothing and tried to cross the street where no crosswalk is present. Bad visibility and snow played a role in the Snohomish auto accident, he said.

The incident is being investigated by police.

Renton Car Crash Leaves Bicyclist Dead

A bicyclist was hit by a driver this morning in the Skyway neighborhood. According to King County sheriff's Deputies, the cyclist was killed.

Sgt. John Urquhart said that the accident happened on South 130th Street and Renton Avenue South around 6:30 a.m. Thursday morning. The driver was a man in his 70s, and the male cyclist died at the scene. There was no further information available about the driver or the victim.

Urquhart also said that police are investigating how the fatal Renton car crash happened. The road will remain closed for several hours, he added.

Two Injured in Washington Car Accident

Two injured in head on crash

Washington State Patrol reported that Monday night, two people were seriously injured in a head-on crash on River Road.

According to toopers, a 45-year-old man driving a pickup truck got a broken ankle and was taken to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle for treatment.

A 25-year-old Tacoma woman driving a four-door sedan suffered a skull fracture and two broken bones. She was taken to Tacoma General Hospital by paramedics for treatment.

The pickup truck was going north on River Road when the driver crossed the center line near Gratzer Road and struck the southbound sedan head-on just before 9:30 p.m. Both vehicles were totaled, and the River Road car crash blocked the roadway until early Tuesday morning.

The crash is still under investigation.

Hit-and-Run Car Accident in Toppenish Kills One, Two Flee

Police still searching for two people involved in deadly car accident

Washington State Police are looking for two people involved in a deadly hit-and-run car crash Thanksgiving Day in Toppenish, Washington.

According to troopers, the driver of one car failed to stop at a stop sign west of Toppenish. That car hit another car, ramming it through a fence.

The 37 year old driver of the second car died in the crash. Two children who were also in the car were transported to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle and are still in critical condition.

"The search will continue for these two individuals that left the scene," Sgt. Ed McAvoy said. "They will be found. It'll just be a matter of time."

The first car is in police custody and McAvoy says they will check the car's past and current owners to get leads.
