Thurston County Motorcycle Accident Leaves Man Injured

In Thurston County Saturday, a 71-year-old man was hurt when his motorcycle struck a truck that had turned in front of him.

Washington State Patrol troopers said that a 45-year-old man from Olympia was driving a pickup truck north on Littlerock Road around 4 p.m. The motorcycle driver was traveling south. The truck driver then turned onto 110th Avenue in front of the motorcycle and the vehicles collided. A 70-year-old woman from Olympia, who was a passenger on the motorcycle, was not injured.

According to news reports, the man was taken to a hospital in the area. An accident report from the State Patrol did not give information about his specific motorcycle accident injuries. The truck driver was not hurt.

Troopers do suspect that drugs or alcohol contributed to the accident. But no information was given by the State Patrol about why investigators believe that.

Both people on the motorcycle were wearing helmets.
