According to troopers, the driver of one car failed to stop at a stop sign west of Toppenish. That car hit another car, ramming it through a fence.

The 37 year old driver of the second car died in the crash. Two children who were also in the car were transported to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle and are still in critical condition.

“The search will continue for these two individuals that left the scene,” Sgt. Ed McAvoy said. “They will be found. It’ll just be a matter of time.”

The first car is in police custody and McAvoy says they will check the car’s past and current owners to get leads.
